An illustrated Trust Talk with Rashida Godwin

This presentation explores the call for reparations in Bermuda, rooted in the enduring legacy of enslavement and colonialism—systems that created deep social and economic inequities that continue to shape society today. Reparations seek to confront these historical injustices by advancing equity, healing, and restorative justice for affected communities.

Through her work, Rashida has woven together landscape, memory, and place—bringing visibility to histories long overlooked. Her passion for uncovering and sharing hidden narratives demonstrates how one individual’s commitment can inspire change and help pave the way toward a more just and equitable community.

Rashida is the managing director of Titan Tours, a transport and tour company dedicated to sharing Bermuda’s vibrant and diverse history through immersive tours and educational experiences. As a cultural curator, she has redefined how Bermuda’s history is perceived, taught, and remembered.

She is the recipient of CURB’s Dr Eva Hodgson Award and is widely recognized for developing impactful heritage tours, including: The Mary Prince Legacy Bus Tour, The Freedom Tour in the City, The MAAFA Tour at National Museum, Friendly Societies Tour, and the newly added, The Black Ourstory Tour, which all provide invaluable insights into the African heritage deeply embedded in Bermuda’s history.
